Today I’m a Confessor

There are things in life that the majority of people love. And then there’s me. I’ve been thinking about this lately and I’m ready to confess that — believe it or not — I am NOT a fan of any of the following:

Vampires: They may be beautiful, immortal and immensely popular, but when I received my Entertainment Weekly yesterday with Vampires on the cover, I was not enthused. I’ve never read Anne Rice. Didn’t see Lestat on the big screen. Don’t watch HBO’s True Blood. And I have no interest in reading the Twilight series.

PT Cruiser: Chrysler introduced this retro-styled car nearly a decade ago. I didn’t like it then. I don’t like it now. But apparently the world feels differently.

Sonic: Save the fact I was not familiar with Sonic Drive-Ins when I moved to Texas, I have since had many opportunities to try it. Chewy burgers. Foamy milkshakes. Questionable service. They have yet to provide a great reason for me to return.

The Princess Bride: I was in high school when this movie came out. But its pop culture prominence has kept it on the fringe of the limelight, so I recently watched it again. Despite Vizzini’s compelling argument, it still doesn’t do much for me.

Flip-Flops: Last but not least, I have no idea how anybody can keep flip-flops on. I totally buy into the ease and convenience of these summertime faves, but I physically cannot keep them on my feet. But that’s okay. It’s not the first (or last) fashion trend I’ve failed to follow.
